NAIOP offers two membership types: Principal and Associate.

Principal members are employed by an organization whose primary business is development, ownership, and management of or investment in industrial, office, mixed-use or related commercial real estate.

Associate members are employed by a company or organization that provides products or services to the industrial, office, mixed-use or related commercial real estate firm who belong to the same chapter.

NAIOP also offers the following membership categories:
Public Official
Academician
Student (full-time)
Developing Leaders (35 years or younger)

“NAIOP's mission is to provide the commercial and industrial real estate industry with a visionary, beneficial and responsive association.  We provide member education, facilitate communication, foster business opportunities and promote effective public policy.  The Association is committed to improving the professionalism of the individual, the image of the industry and the quality of life in our communities.”

NAIOP is a professional organization for developers and owners of commercial real estate. Over 15,000 real estate professionals belong to an extensive network of 51 NAIOP chapters located in the United States and Canada.
